J. David Creswell

J. David Creswell is an Associate Professor in Psychology and The Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition at Carnegie Mellon University, where he directs the Health and Human Performance Laboratory. In 2011 he was recognized as a Rising Star by the Association for Psychological Science, and in 2014 he received the American Psychological Association early career award for his scientific contributions to psychology.

Professor Creswell's research focuses on understanding what makes people resilient under stress. Studies in his lab explore how resilience strategies, such as mindfulness meditation, self-affirmation, rewards, and cognitive reappraisal can foster stress regulation and reduce stress-related disease risk.
